Ok, it's been awhile......

Iowa has been great! The weather has been awesome. I have gotten to spend some time with old friends. The photo is the old gang. We worked together at U of I Hospitals & Clinics from 1974-78. Dwight was here too! We used to hang around together. I didn't get a picture of us, darn it! You just can't beat the Iowa countryside. Moo, moo, moo..............

River Junction Tractor Ride

The tractor ride was the main event last weekend. Friday night was a dinner with some entertainment. All the tractors were lined up and ready to go for Saturday morning.
I had 3 uncles riding tractors. There were 185 tractors participating in the ride that meandered thru small Iowa towns and rolling countrysides. They drove a route of over 60 miles.

Horse Auction - what memories!

My dad used to drop my cousin Glenda and I off at the sale barn and we would sit for hours and watch the horses run around the sale ring. There was a great ice cream bar that was sold there. It was ice cream dipped in chocolate and rolled in graham cracker crumbs. They still have those ice cream bars. Yum..... I had one!!! The amish are all over here. All sorts of baking goods, quilts and cheese.

My sister Donna, Scott and their grandkids; big sister Shae and Avery.

We had a great time with the kids at my sisters house.

July 4th Parade

We were in the big town of Wellman, Iowa for the parade. There were a lot of people and rain. The kids took in more candy than a normal Halloween night.

Now why Alaska to Missouri?

These two cuties moved from Alaska to Missouri. We just had to stop and say hi.
Don't you love Red's homemade hat?

Mark Twain's birthplace.

Which state you say? Well Missouri the show me state. The original homestead was moved to the current location and then the museum was built around it. Lots of cool, old stuff. What was his real name? The button necklace was very neat. I think I'll start a new trend!

Farmland, an arch and the great river.

After seeing the Great Smoky Mountains we headed for Iowa and my family reunion. The St. Louis Arch is a great landmark with the riverboat casino's along the shore of the mighty Mississippi River.
