San Andres Fault
The San Andres Fault is well known here in California. When I told my friend Dwight we would be in Indio, he said isn't that close to the fault? Well, the epi-center is about 10 miles, as the crow flies, from where we sit. We drove there today. It is a neat area that will be explored more when the temps are cooler.

How hot is it?
Shadow Hills Ponds
Shadow Hills RV Park, Indio, CA
I told my sister when it gets cool enough to enjoy outside I would take some pictures. Well today I took a dip in the pool, oh it was soooo nice. Then I took some pictures. We are parked across from the dog park. That's our rig above the dog park sign. The second picture is how the trees look. They just got trimmed. The trimmed tree on the left will look like the tree in the middle in a year. The swimming pool is my kind of pool. It is 3.6 feet at both ends with 4.6 in the middle.
On the road to Shadow Hills.

The country landscape is changing as we drive West.
Storm clouds and Brownie's cactus!
We drove in rain most of the day on Sunday, Sept 20th. I told Dave we should bottle it so we can open it up when we start to miss rain this winter. We stopped to visit friends again in Espanola, NM. Dave worked with Brownie and Kay at Rocky Flats in CO. Brownie made a few cactus for Kay's gardens. Their house on the mesa is beautiful.
Leaving CO via 285.
Kathy's parents stone.

Hi,
Well it's been 6 days since the last posting. We are currently in Bullhead City, AZ overlooking the Colorado River and Laughlin, NV. Since the last post we have been in: Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. We stopped to visit friends in NM and AZ. Also we met Teri & Bob here in Laughlin yesterday. Tomorrow we arrive at our new home for the winter, Shadow Hills RV Resort, Indio, CA. Here's a few cool pictures from WY. Puff is Jo's new dog.

We are visiting Jo in Wheatland, WY.
Jo is Dave's Mom and very precious to us. When we come here it is like coming home. Our kids get to run around in the fenced 4 acres. Jo has had to bury Bow (16 hand Arabian)since we were here last time. The place is too lonely with NO chores to do. She has been talking of getting some goats soooo you know me. I got on the internet and found some in Johnstown, CO. Jo was going to Loveland, CO. to sit with Ian so the goats were close by. So the issue then was how to get them from CO to WY. Dave took some old covers and "goat proofed" the back seat of the car. Jo arrived this morning with goats in the car. They are soooo cute. There are 3 new family members here. Two are twins that are Nubian & Alpine cross. The other small one is pure Nubian.

Sioux Falls to Kearney, NE
We decided to take the back roads. They are so much more interesting than the interstates. We took 44 across; then down and around to end up North of Kearney to see Cliff & Karen. We meet them last winter at Lakeside in New Mexico. They have been busy selling peaches, apples, plums and pears. They travel to Palisades, CO to buy them. Then resell over a 3 state area. They have been doing it for 17 years and have quite a few people that wait for their fruit every year. Cliff collects models of cars and trucks and also has a few real ones. We gotta go for a ride. There were NO seat belts. They gave us a tour of Kearney. They said the museum that is over I-80 was moved in one piece and put in place. It is worth a tour, altho Dave & I have never stopped to go thru it.
