Sunday... joke of the week day!!!!

A husband in his back yard is trying to fly a kite. He throws the kite up in the air, the wind catches it for a few seconds, then it comes crashing back down to earth.

He tries this a few more times with no success.


All the while, his wife is watching from the kitchen window, muttering to herself how men need to be told how to do everything.

She opens the window and yells to her husband, 'You need a piece of tail.'

The man turns with a confused look on his face and says, 'Make up your mind. Last night, you told me to go fly a kite.'

How cold is it?

A fellow camper, Gary, said this is the first time in 7 years he has seen snow on Fra Cristobal Mnt. Range. It is also soooo cold Jax has a blankie......:-)

Aah, the Golden Years!
(Really; the only thing golden is the color of your urine from taking all those dang pills!!!)

SPECIAL POEM FOR OLDER FOLKS
A row of bottles on my shelf
Caused me to analyze myself.
One yellow pill I have to pop
Goes to my heart so it won't stop.
A little white one that I take
Goes to my hands so they won't shake.
The blue ones that I use a lot
Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.
The purple pill goes to my brain
And tells me that I have no pain.
The capsules tell me not to wheeze
Or cough or choke or even sneeze.
The red ones, smallest of them all
Go to my blood so I won't fall.
The orange ones, very big and bright
Prevent my leg cramps in the night.
Such an array of brilliant pills
Helping to cure all kinds of ills.
But what I'd really like to know...........
Is what tells each one where to go!

COOKIES..........................


Chocolate chip cookies

2 1/4 c all purpose flour
1 teas baking soda
1 c butter (I can't believe it's not butter)
1/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar firmly packed
1 teas vanilla
1 (4 serving) vanilla instant pudding mix
2 eggs
1 -12 oz pack choc chips
1 c nuts (optional)

Mix flour with baking soda - set aside. Combine butter the sugars, vanilla & pudding mix in large bowl. Beat in eggs gradually add flour mixture; then stir in chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls unto an un-greased baking sheet. Bake 375 for 8-10 minutes.

NOTE: for chocolate - chocolate chip use chocolate pudding
for extra chunky mix chocolate, butterscotch & white chocolate chips with nuts
for chocolate mint – use chocolate pudding and mint chips

We stopped for lunch. Then the end of Box Canyon was very cool.

The trail head has a sign that reads "Four wheel drive recommended next 33 miles." Off we go.

Virgin....part 2.

After you go thru the town of Monticello you meander along the old riverbed. The country must have been quite a place with water. There are still sod buster houses standing. A bazzillion huge old cottonwood trees. We drove across water a lot. Most of the land was private with a small portion of state land.

I'm not a virgin anymore.....part 1.

because I've explored Monticello/Box Canyon. Box Canyon is a very popular drive of the jeeper's here in EB. The gang always seemed to go on a Saturday and we worked the weekends so we never got to go. Well, we finally did and what a trip. The drive starts by going thru the old town of Monticello. There is an old school and church. There are some permanent residents living there. In the old days the whole town had a wall around it for protection. I tried to surf for some Monitcello info but didn't find much.
However, I did find 2 great websites. One is gov't: www.sierracountynewmexico.info The other is a private blog. Great job Jake!

It's nice to be back in NM.
