We are in Wyoming.

Phase One of the journey is over. After 1623 miles we pulled into Jo's around 3:00 today. Wheatland had their Octoberfest this evening so we went for a bit. When we got back we couldn't find Mac. When we found him he was a huffing and puffing. We wonder how long he was stuck. He reminded me of a critter with his head stuck in a jar.

We are drivin'along and what is that?

Jaz would have loved this today. Mac let out a couple woofes. It was so cool!!
We drove from Lakeview, OR to Battle Mountain, NV. I'm gonna try my luck at the casino tonight. We traveled most of the day on the back roads in BFE. We have been on our favorite road I-80 for about 1/2 hr today. It will take us to Cheyenne where we will turn left. Cheers!

The color blue ='s

Crater Lake. But first, on the way there, I was playing with the camera. Dave said "What are you doing?" Ok, taking pictures of my f___ .... YUP.
Crater Lake was so amazing Sunday that we had to go back again on Monday. Monday I discovered that I had made a big mistake Sunday by NOT taking off my sunglasses. Today when I took off my glasses I discovered the definition of "BLUE."

Sunday Words of Wisdom.

With time, women gain weight because we
accumulate so much information and wisdom
in our heads that when there is no more room,
it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.
So the conclusion would be, we aren't heavy,
we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.

Beginning today,
when I look at my butt in the mirror, I will think,

Good grief, look how smart I am!

Must be where the term

'Smart Ass' came from.

We had a great visit with Larry & Jan @ Columbia River RV Park in Woodland, WA. We are off to Crater Lake today. Heaven help the Bronco's. Glad to miss this game.
HAPPY SUNDAY!

Julie's vacation Day 3, Ruby Beach & Bye Bye Wasington

I discovered Ruby Beach while I was cruising on the ferry when Sheri & Jimmy were here. We did not have time to go check it out tho. So we took a couple days and went there and to Neah Bay. That was the trip before Jaz went to the vet to not come home. I decided Julie needed to see it. We waited until Dave was off and loaded Mac up & away we went. It is a beautiful beach. Dave was given a couple of kings so he borrowed a smoker and spent 15 hours skmokin.' Also finally tomorrow morning we are outta here. I think it was a good thing that we didn't leave right after Jaz died like we wanted to. Our heads are in the game now but our hearts are still broken....:(

Julie's Vacation Day 2

Waterfalls everywhere. It was raining but who cares, off we went exploring. The first waterfall was a short walk but the second one was a good 20 minutes. The canal view was out the window of the bar where we ate lunch. Did you know that the berries around here are so wild that they even eat caddy's? Hum.....

Dave's day in court & Jaz's memorial.

The female judge had a great sense of humor. She chatted with most people a bit before handing down her sentence. She knocked Dave's ticket from $144.00 to $125.00 and if he is a good boy for 6 months it will not go on his record. Sunday we got Jaz's jasmine plants put into the ground. We used the rock we carried from NM, that I did not get tumbled, to surround her plants. Minnesota Cindy made a very nice flag for the site. She put Jaz's photo on the front and a very nice saying on the back. It was such a special gift. Dave made the wooden sign.

Sunday Joke.

Farting Pills, Or Not
An elderly lady goes into the doctor and tells him - "Doctor, I don't know what the problem is, but I've been farting all the time. It's not really a problem socially because they don't make any noise and don't smell. I just can't stop farting all the time. In fact, since I've been standing here I must have farted at least 20 times."
"No kidding..." says the doctor with a bit of an upturned nose. The doc says "I've got just the stuff." and gives her some pills. "Here take these for 10 days, then return for a follow up appointment."
So she takes the pills and returns 10 later as instructed. Infuriated, she confronted the doctor. "What kind of medicine is this? I'm still farting just as much! They still don't make any noise, but now they stink terribly!"
The doctor nodded, "Great, now that we've your sinuses cleared up, we'll work on your hearing next!"

Julie is visiting.

Julie is an old friend from Sir Speedy dates 1979-1982. She is living in Lakewood, CO. She flew out to visit and to reminisce about her childhood in Seattle. We stayed in a cool room downtown Seattle Tuesday night. Wednesday we did the Pike Place Market. We also found her house where she lived until age 6. She is standing in front of it in shock. I told her to knock on the door and she did. The gal answered the door with great hesitation but quickly warmed up to us. She even shared old pictures of the house that she researched. She seemed happy at the info that Julie shared about the place. We call ourselves Themla (Julie) and Loise (me).

Jaz is home.

Our girl is home again. Jaz on the left with the tree and Maggie on the right. The vet surprised us with a paw print stone with Jaz's name. Dave had to bake it. We also got a very nice card from the vet with a bunch of notes from all the vet techs.

Sunday Joke.

The best thing so far about Washington, 10:00 Bronco games.

Mexican Jews

Cohen and Levy were sitting in a Mexican restaurant. "Cohen," asked Levy, "Are there any Jews in Mexico?"
I don't know," Levy replied. "Why don't we ask the waiter?"
When the waiter came by, Levy asked him, "Are there any Mexican Jews?"
"I do not know sir, I ask," the waiter replied, and he went into the kitchen. He returned in a few minutes and said, "No, sir. No Mexican Jews."
"Are you sure?" Levy asked.
"I will check again, sir." the waiter replied and went back to the kitchen.
While he was still gone, Cohen said, "I cannot believe there are no Jews in Mexico. Our people are scattered everywhere."
When the waiter returned he said, "Sir, no Mexican Jews."
"Are you really sure?" Levy asked again. "I cannot believe there are no Mexican Jews."
"Sir, I ask everyone," the waiter replied exasperated. "We have orange Jews, grape Jews, tomato Jews and prune Jews, but no one ever hear of Mexican Jews!"

No joke just memories.

I miss doing this blog, thanks John! I guess it's hard to shut me up. I want to share about all the labs Dave & I have had in our 25 years together. When I met Dave he had Nikki. She had run of the unlocked house Dave lived in. I kicked her outside. I wanted just Dave & I in the bed. My how times have changed. Nikki was a fine boned tall lab who had 11 puppies for us. It took her about 8 hours to have them all. The first one was downstairs on the couch. When Dave got home from work he gathered them up and into the birthing box they went. I'll never forget one Monday night Bronco game, four people came to look at puppies, and 4 left with one. That was a nice night of making $2000.00 bucks. Nikki died of liver failure in 4 days. We kept a male, McKinley's Mr. Theo. Theo loved to hunt pheasants. He never went around anything. He went thru it. He was named, Theo, before he existed. He got sick and we had decided to put him down the next morning. In the night I heard him yip. That was his goodbye, Mom & Dad. He was gone when we found him the next morning. His age 14 1/2. He was a grouchy old man toward the end. Then along comes Maggie. She was a very special girl. Her Mom, Sassy, was number 5 in the US in 1997. That's about as high as the girls get. Mag was even prettier than her Mom. She was Dave's hunting buddy too! At six months she was goose hunting. Dave sent her after a goose. When Mag got up to the goose it got up spread its wings and attacked. Mag won. Ever since that experience if she did not come back bloody from hunting with Dad they didn't get any birds. Dave had a trailer, that I painted camo, full of 300 decoys. It would take 2 hours to set the decoys up. Maggie loved to go to the neighbors to poop on their lawn. What can we say? Sorry AL. She was hit by a neighbor on her way back from Al's. The neighbor thought she hit a rock. Her spine was snapped. Her back 1/2 couldn't move but her front 1/2 wanted to come home. That was dog 2 Dave held as the needle was used. Maggie was eight. Maggie was hard. It took 1 & 1/2 years for Dave to say "I think I'm ready for another puppy." Jasmine was named before she existed too! You all know about that special girl. Everyone loved Jaz. When I saw the sunset the other night I knew Jaz had made it and was with my Mom. Enjoy her Mom. She was special like you!
Two more things to share. Val, who owns the kayak store brought us balloons yesterday to write on and send up for Jaz. That was so nice! Dave, I and Pam wrote on the 2 red balloons. We were ready to release them when a gas customer pulled up to the dock. (Dave has been getting this a lot.) There was a 4 year old cute little girl in the boat. "Where's Jazman, she asked?" They have 2 black labs. They finished and got into the boat to leave. Pam helps at the dock. I was standing there as the little girl asked Pam again "Where's Jazman." Pam says "Jazman went to heaven." "Are you sad" the little girl asks. " Are you her Mom?" Pam points to me and the little girl asks "Are you sad? Yup we are sad."
