One year ago today.

One year ago we said Goodbye to a dear friend Jazmine. Your Dad and I miss you everyday baby juan!

What do you do when a good friend dies?

What do you do when a good friend dies?
Do you lash out in anger and curse at the sky.
Or grasp hard denial, the means of the weak,
In an effort to kindle the comfort you seek.

What do you do when a good friend dies?
Once life's breath, so precious, gives the chest final rise.
In haste you take blame, no other at fault,
You kneel upturned earth and deem all happiness to halt.

What do you do when a good friend dies?
When with him the times, both good and bad, lie.
Do you cast aside the past, for memories hurt much too much,
Or struggle and fight for that last lingering touch.

What do you do when a good friend dies?
When all of the tears have all but been cried.
No matter how much, no matter how hard you try,
The only thing to do is say farewell.
Goodbye.

Heavy s__t man!

I have been thinking, as many of you have, of all the hardships that Ken & Phil have gone through in their lives. In the paper today was this article. How appropriate "food for thought" is this?

What are your pivotal moments?

Written by Norma Engelberg.
Her facebook page is: Norma Engleberg CMC

People have their own ideas about what makes up a pivotal moment. Some of these are personal, some are national and some are global.

Personal moments could be the birth of a child, a marriage proposal, meeting a hero, even making a wrong turn. Each event in our lives, no matter how minor it might seem to others, has the potential to change everything.

For example, a long time ago I had a roommate who answered a wrong number phone call, talked to the strange man on the other end for about an hour, dated him for six months and ended up marrying him. It took her another year to figure out that he really was a “wrong number.”

One wonders how different both of our lives might have been if I had answered the phone. But then again, “wrong numbers” are everywhere and you don’t even need a phone to find them.

In 10th grade I brought to school a book on the Enola Gay, the B-29 Superfortress Bomber that carried the atomic bomb “Little Boy” to Hiroshima. Evidently one of the 19 boys in my chemistry class (there were 2 girls) didn’t think girls should be reading such material or maybe he just thought he was being funny. Anyway, the Neanderthal (I mean no disrespect to Neanderthals) snatched up my book and threw it out the third-story window.

That was a pivotal moment in my personal development --- it marked my first realization that some boys, and even some girls, don’t think people of the female persuasion should have brains.

Poet Robert Frost published “The Road not Taken” in 1915, lamenting the fact that we as individuals can take only one road at a time.

With that in mind, my questions to you are: “Where do you think your “road not taken” might have taken you? And “What were your pivotal moments – the moments that changed everything for you?”

George and Del had a BABY?

Yup, they did! When Del came to see George he decided to buy some horses. George had his stock trailer so why not. But the Momma horse died 2 days after birthing this beautiful baby. George said they had to stop to bottle feed the little tyke on the way from New Mexico to Wyoming.

Dr. Phil did it again???

She has a birthday today! I did not find out until last fall that one of my dearest friends shares my Mom's birthday.

Happy Birthday Mom! If you were still her you would be 86 today. Miss you!

But Phil is still here and she is very special. Have a great day partner in crime! I rummaged around to find some photo's of our fun together. I also looked to see about those folks born today. Here's 3 different views. I find them always interesting. I can't wait to see you again. Love ya!

Horoscopes.....

This is a great time to create a place of meditation somewhere in your home. Perhaps this can be filled with a spiritual library and pictures of beautiful places and areas that would encourage relaxation. This is a place where you can shed the stresses of the day, perhaps a corner in a room with plants; maybe a small waterwheel or a lounge chair and subdued light. Some wonderfully relaxing exercises can be enjoyed in this area if there is difficulty in sleeping. There is a lot of energy for work, play and celebration time today. You have come a long way in accomplishing and learning and in teaching others; keep up the good work! Gambling at this time is not wise but taking a chance on you is a must; join that band or start a new job. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
--------------------------------------------------------------

Whatever you have to do, get it done as early in the day as possible. The afternoon brings a void-of-course Capricorn moon that will slow productivity markedly. At least Mercury retrograde in Leo will factor in to make sure there will be entertainment in the misadventures that occur while we're waiting around for progress to resume.
-------------------------------------------------------------

For those of us born on August 10:
Happy birthday! You will be able to charm the birds out of the trees this year, but you won't have to rely on it. You can simultaneously see both the small and big pictures, and deal with even quarrelsome people with no strain on your tact. Their worries and paranoia are obvious to you, and you can set them at ease by being at ease yourself. This will be especially useful in late winter. That's when there's a chance for you to negotiate monetary gains for you and another. Look forward to a pleasant and profitable year!

AN ATHEIST IN THE WOODS

An atheist was walking through the woods.

'What majestic trees!
'What powerful rivers!
'What beautiful animals!
He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.

He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him..

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer.

He tripped & fell on the ground.

He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out,
'Oh my God!'

Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky.

'You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.

Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?

Am I to count you as a believer?'

The atheist looked directly into the light, 'It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?'

'Very well,' said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

'Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.'

Rain, rain and more rain!

Yesterday it rained the hardest I think I have ever seen! It really came down. The previous day was hard as well and lasted much longer, before noon to early the next morning. One thing I have noticed is we do not get wind here. Last year, on July 4th, there was a massive hail storm. Thirty awnings were damages and many vehicles were hit. Luckily NO hail so far this summer.
