We did not want to drive in Houston so we decided to take the ferry at Galveston. All ferries in Texas are free. The ride was all of 3 miles and 15 minutes. The area that we drove thru when we got off the ferry should make you never want to live in a hurricane area. The damage was done by Hurricane Ike.
