Our sewing project.

Dr. Phil and I have been sewing. It is all Bev's fault. She had a chenille vest on that we loved. We just had to make one. First, we got 100% cotton and tried it as a sample. It didn't work. Then we decided we better get at this so we drove to Cruces and bought the real stuff, homespun. We tried our samples again yesterday. Success, they came out beautiful. We marked them so we knew what combo we wanted.
What is the chenille process, you ask? Well, you put anywhere from 4 to 8 layers of fabric together. Pick a lining fabric. Sew all the layers together at 1/4 to 1/2 inches apart. Then cut thru all but the bottom layer. I found out very quickly that I needed a cutter and not an ordinary scissors. Throw it in the washing machine and the dryer and walllah....chenille has been created. The sample pieces are 8 x 8.
We couldn't find a solid color for the top, like Bev's. So after searching the internet we finally found some in Arkansas. It's on the way. What do you think?
