The 19 richest members of Congress

The 19 richest members of Congress

I don't know anything!

Well,    It's official; I don't know anything.

I thought for sure that given such a clear choice, Americans would vote for love of country over revenge.

I was wrong.

I thought, that just as every presidential election in my lifetime, the bad economy would be hung    around the incumbent's neck, sinking him.

I was wrong.

I thought that even those few Americans who were fortunate enough to still be fully employed (not counting those leeching off the public system) would be cognizant of how much pain their neighbors were in and elect someone who would at least try to make improvements.

I was wrong.

I thought that now that FINALLY some of the disturbing truths about our first black president had come to light, voters would reject a man so dangerously at odds with the American experience.

I was wrong.

I thought the 2010 elections and the Tea Party meant something.

I thought the enthusiasm on display at Romney/Ryan events, contrasted with the lack of same at Obama/Biden events meant something.

I thought Americans would never sell their liberty for the sake of trinkets like cell phones or even big shiny lies like 'free health care'.

I was wrong.

Never in a million years would I have supposed that America would support a president who left his (our) people to die at the hands of our enemies overseas without lifting a hand to help, then lie about what he watched in real time for over two weeks, then lie about the lie for another month.

I was wrong.

I thought Americans could tell a hawk from a handsaw.

I was wrong.

We were offered the clearest choice we've has since 1980, where we had malaise and a misery index on one hand and a shining city on a hill on the other. Back then, we chose the city on the hill.    This time the choice was between a man who says 7.9% unemployment and $4.00 gas is the new normal and a guy whose entire career has been about fixing broken entities.

We chose to stay broken. And Broke.

Maybe I'm wrong about the ramifications of this choice. Maybe windmills will actually turn out to be a viable energy source. Maybe America diminished will be loved overseas. Maybe a nuclear Iran won't be a threat. Maybe Israel is over reacting. Maybe western civilization was always over rated. Maybe life under sharia is fun.    Maybe when the rest of the world realizes that we have no intention of ever    paying back that $16,000,000,000,000.00 (and counting) that we've borrowed from them, they won't devalue the dollar, causing hyper inflation here at home. Maybe China will just keep on giving us    money and not demand our hearts, souls, national monuments and marriageable daughters as payment.

I've watched my candidate lose elections before but I've never felt the way I did last night when this one was called for Obama.  Not because of Obama, but because of what it says about us, the    American people, that we chose this.

It shouldn't have even been close.    Faced with the choice between taking charge of our destiny and tackling our financial problems, we opted to get high and have sex. We re elected a guy who doesn't understand that a growing economy that creates more tax payers will bring in more revenue than higher taxes. A Commander in Chief who doesn't know our military still uses bayonets. A man who wants to control the economy  without even knowing the difference between bankruptcy and liquidation. It was    one thing to elect an unknown quantity, buying his line of 'Hope and Change'.    It's something else to deliberately choose his failed policies over someone who has actually achieved success in life. I never dreamed America would do that.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, Hello Idiocracy!

Goodbye, recovery.

Goodbye, energy independence.

Goodbye, religious liberty.

Goodbye, liberty and justice for all.

Goodbye, America dream.

It profits a man nothing to lose his soul for the whole world but we threw ours away for cell phones and birth control pills.

In the twentieth century (the  American Century), we stepped up to the plate three times and saved the rest of the world from fascism, Nazism and communism. We were the cavalry, always riding to the rescue.

Now, we've gotten rid of our horses, spent all our money on windmills, alienated our allies, bowed to our enemies, cut ourselves off from our own natural resources thrown away our children's birthright and spent their inheritance.

And we did it on purpose.

When the wolf is at the door (and he's coming, yelling 'Allahu Akbar') we're going to find out that there is no one out there to come to our rescue.

On the bright side, maybe it'll all turn out great. After all, I don't know anything.

California stats.

Interesting about California
Republicans in the House are under a lot of pressure to go along with the Democrats after their election wins. But can you imagine what one-party rule would mean to the economy? Luckily, we don’t have to imagine it. We have California, where a Republican legislator is about as rare these days as a silent movie. Con
n Carroll at the Washington Examiner just crunched the latest West Coast numbers. Under virtual one-party rule, California has run up about $370 billion in total state and local debt, or more than $10,000 per resident. That’s despite having both the nation’s highest sales tax and an income tax with the highest top rate. If high taxes, unbridled spending and unlimited debt stimulated economies, California’s should be booming. So what did all that spending buy?

Well, according to a new Census Bureau report, nearly a quarter of Californians are living in poverty. California is home to one-eighth of the US population, but one-third of all welfare recipients. Chief Executive magazine just ranked California as the worst state of all to do business in. Texas was ranked as the best. Texas has a jobless rate of 6.8 percent, California’s is 10.2. But wait, didn’t all that redistribution of wealth at least create economic equality? Well, no: the Census Bureau reports that income inequality is actually worse in California than in Texas. So maybe the voters who opted to continue gridlock in Washington knew what they were doing.

Hitler marches on!

Homeland Security graduates first Corps of Obama’s Brown Shirts – Homeland Youth

It Makes Sense Blog [2]  October 7, 2012. Vicksburg. The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930’s Germany. Regardless of their name, the Dept of Homeland Security has just graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth. Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the President’s AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHS’s youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country.
On September 13, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps first-responders. While the idea of having a volunteer force of tens of thousands of volunteers scattered across the country to aid in times of natural disasters sounds great, the details and timing of this new government army is somewhat curious, if not disturbing.

DHS raising an armed army
The first problem one finds with this ‘new army’ is the fact that they are mere children. Yes, 18 is generally the legal age a person can sign a contract, join the military or be tried as an adult. But ask any parent – an 18, 20 or even a 24 year-old is still a naïve, readily-influenced kid.
The second problem with this announcement and program is its timing. Over the past two years, President Obama has signed a number of Executive Orders suspending all civil and Constitutional rights and turning over management of an America under Martial Law to FEMA. Also in that time, domestic federal agencies under DHS, including FEMA, have ordered billions of rounds of ammunition as well as the corresponding firearms. Admittedly, these new weapons and ammunition aren’t to be used in some far-off war or to fight forest fires in California, but right here on the streets of America.

Strange Armored Fighting Vehicles
Individuals around the US have begun reporting the site of strange, new, heavily-armed FEMA fighting vehicles. What would a disaster relief agency like FEMA need with 2,500 brand new GLS armored fighting vehicles? According to the agency’s own mandate, as well as President Obama’s recent Executive Order, the answer is ‘population control’ during a time of Martial Law.
One set of images made available by Rense.com shows trailer after trailer carrying these new DHS and FEMA armored fighting vehicles, complete with machine gun slots. They’re labeled with the usual backward American flag and the title, ‘Homeland Security’. Below that and the DHS logo, it also reads, ‘Immigration & Customs Enforcement’. Joining those markings, the black vehicles with white lettering also display ‘POLICE/RESCUE’ on one side and ‘Special Response Team’ on the other.

FEMA Corps
FEMA Deputy Administrator Rich Serino gave the keynote address at the ‘Induction Ceremony’ for the inaugural class of FEMA Corps members. According to the DHS website, ‘Corps members assist with disaster preparedness, response, and recovery activities, providing support in areas ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovering centers to sharing valuable disaster preparedness and mitigation information with the public.’
Serino describes what the first FEMA Corps class has accomplished so far, as well as where they’ll be going next:
‘Yesterday, we welcomed 231 energetic members into the first ever FEMA Corps class. The members just finished off their first month of training with our partners at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and are one step closer to working in the field on disaster response and recovery. They will now head to FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness to spend the next two weeks training in their FEMA position-specific roles. Once they complete both the CNCS and FEMA training, these 231 dedicated FEMA Corps members will be qualified to work in one of a variety of disaster related roles, ranging from Community Relations to Disaster Recovery Center support.’

A standing army
Unlike most local disaster response teams who are volunteers, training periodically and only showing up when there’s a disaster, the FEMA Corps will be a paid, full time, standing army of government youth. FEMA Deputy Administrator Sarino goes on to explain, ‘The new members, who range in age from 18-24 years old, will contribute to a dedicated, trained, and reliable disaster workforce by working full-time for ten months on federal disaster response and recovery efforts.’

In closing his announcement of the first
graduating class of FEMA Corps Youth, Sarino describes his and the agency’s vision of the future, one where ‘FEMA Corps sets the foundation for a new generation of emergency managers’.

DHS arms itself
As we detailed in the August 28 Whiteout Press article ‘History of DHS Ammunition Purchases’, federal emergency management agencies are looking more and more like a military army every day.
The federal government’s procurement website actually lists DHS’ requests for bids to supply it with ammunition and military weaponry. All of the orders listed in the above article, including the orders for hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition, are publicly available at http://www.fbo.gov.
One look at a chart of DHS ammunition purchases over the past decade reveals a drastic spike in orders of bullets recently, totaling in the billions of rounds. Other charts available online show a similar drastic spike in the purchases of accompanying weaponry by the Department of Homeland Security.
What is the US federal government preparing for? And why does it feel it needs an army of brainwashed youth, millions of guns, thousands of armored fighting vehicles and literally billions of rounds of ammunition, just to provide relief to the American people during a natural disaster? Any historian will tell you it sounds more like the arming of the Hitler Youth than an army of first responders fighting forest fires and hurricanes.

My view about the re-election of Obama.....

I've been expressing the views I share with most of my snowbird friends about the election on Facebook.   No more!  People on the left don't want to hear it!  I want nice things on Facebook they said  ah.....

I hope we are wrong with our views but it sure doesn't seem so.  We are scared, really scared!

THIS WAS ON AN EMAIL THAT I RECEIVED.................

Subject: TODAY

IN GOD WE TRUST
Dear Friends,

I was asked yesterday if I was "okay" ... and frankly the answer is no, not at all, not even close.  As with a death in the family, I'm on auto-pilot right now, just going through the motions in a world that has fundamentally changed for the worse and will never be the same again.  I haven't slept much more than a few minutes in the last 48-hours with my mind trying to understand what happened on Tuesday ... reading, watching Robin Hood again, sitting next to a waterfall, working on my book, listening to music ... nothing has worked because my thoughts keep instantly returning to the fact that the country I grew up believing in and loving died this week ... and not from a major catastrophe compliments of Mother Nature, a Biblical plague, or an invasion of a foreign country ... worse ... what once was the greatest country in the world committed suicide by voting to reward wrong!

More of less?  I truly don't understand.

Unless one admits to being a leech, a thief, a traitor, or totally terminally retarded ... i.e., a Kool-Aid gulping Democrat ... how could anyone vote for four more years of the worst President, bar none, in the history of this country?  I mean I get it the first time, though I didn't agree ... no known history, the vapid patter sounded good and it was a chance to pat oneself on the back for putting the first black man in the Oval Office.  I even understand how the brain dead, zombied by the incessant braying of the national media, could see their ballot casting as a negation of the George Bush years.  But now?  How does one ignore all the stuff that has happened in the last four years?  How?

How does someone vote for a party that booed God at their convention?  How does a Jew vote for a regime that shows disdain for our only Mideast ally, Israel, and is about to allow Iran to go nuclear?  How does a Catholic vote for the party which wants to override their beliefs through caveats about abortion and contraception in Obamacare?  How does one ignore what happened in Libya on 9/11 ... an administration that for misguided political expediency ignored our embassy's requests for security, watched four Americans murdered and did nothing as pleas of help were sent its way for over seven hours, and then lied to the American people for weeks and covered up what actually took place and why?  How does one ignore the Justice Department breaking the law with its Fast and Furious program and giving weapons to Mexican criminals which has resulted in over a hundred deaths, including the loss of United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry ... or the coverup which is still taking place at the behest of this President and his "powers?"  How does someone want millions more of taxpayer dollars to go into Obama donor pockets behind the disguise of investments in solar energy like Solyndra and so many others?  How does one ignore the cost of gasoline?  How does one ignore how much it costs to buy simple groceries these days?  How does one look the other way and not rage over the killing of the Keystone Pipeline ... a project which would allow the country to move away from a need to seek our energy from Muslim maniacs, along with lowering the cost of fuel and creating thousands of jobs?  Those topics don't grab you?  How about burying your head in the sand about our country going TRILLIONS of dollars deeper in debt and borrowing money from the Chinese, that foreign Obama endorsers are human scumbags like Putin, Chavez, and Castro, that the unemployment numbers are being cooked on a weekly basis and for months and months and months, were still over 8%, or the continual use of the race card against anyone that opposes the hideous policies of this administration?  Can anyone not be aware of the fact that the Progressives gleefully stooped to new lows during the campaign to slime an intelligent and decent man who has provided thousands with jobs and given millions to charity?  How does someone prefer a sneaky, bombastic idiot like Joe Biden over a man like Paul Ryan?  How can over 60% of the country want Obamacare repealed, and yet vote in a manner that locks us into it quite possibly forever, guaranteeing high costs and government bureaucratic nincompoops making life and death decisions about peoples' healthcare?  How can this President be given four more years when he has established himself as so mendacious as to make a serial liar like Bill Clinton look like a fount of veracity and light?  How can a vote be given to a cast of vermin that sues its own states for trying to protect their borders or prevent voter fraud by requiring a photo ID at polling stations?  How can anyone that believes in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution cast their ballot for the communist and socialist vipers Obama has appointed to various government offices, or how he has used a myriad of executive orders to rule when his wants conflicted with laws passed by Congress?  And on and on and on ... a vote Tuesday for Obama was a vote to ignore all the horrors that have been taking place on a daily basis since he was sworn in!

And yet that is what happened Tuesday.

I live in a country called America, but it has barely any resemblance whatsoever to the nation I was born into or have read about in history books all my life ... a special place that was the world's beacon of freedom and offered the chance for a person to rise on the sum of their labors.  Not a land of wealth re-distribution, class warfare, racial warfare, and millions wanting the government to babysit them from womb to tomb ... and under the control of evil fouls like Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, and others of their ilk that in a more just reality would be stood up in front of firing squads for their malfeasance, theft, and treasonous acts.

So no, I'm not okay ... and with the situation as it is, I'm not sure I ever will be again.  What I am at the moment is angry, sad, bitter, ashamed, sick, hurt, confused, disappointed, and very fearful.  Is there a word that blends all those feelings together ... if there is, that is me.  Oh, and mix in this too ... resolved to keep my belief in God and the moral values I've been taught and cherish intact to the last breath I take, loving all the friends and family I hold dear.

Sunday joke....We have a new family member. Introducing Nellie!

We have wanted a Jeep for the last few years.  When we sold the Ford we decided we could buy a  truck and a Jeep.  So after regrouping in EB Dave started looking.  After researching ads and Criagslist we found a few in ALB. to look at.  We came home yesterday with the second Jeep we looked at.

Here was Chris's ad.:

Hello, I am finally ready to part with my baby. I bought this Jeep brand new and have done all the work myself. This jeep has the 5.2L engine, cold air intake, donna V throttle body spacer, teraflex 3" lift, teraflex quick disconnects for the sway bar, all wheel drive, good AC and 31x10.5x15 bfg AT's on black amercan racing wheels. There is 160K miles on this and it is still my daily driver. I usually buy my parts at Autozone so I have a list of parts that are under warranty should you have to replace them. This jeep does great offroad and it plows right through the snow. I will post pics when I take some in the daylight. Please call if you have any questions or you are interested in seeing it. No joy rides, test drives avail with cash in hand.

I forgot!

Here's the last view of the man box.  I forgot to put the final Kimball up.  Dave put the box on and out of Kimball we went.  It took 10 days and a very tired Jim & Dave.
