The next stop was Stonefield Historic Site - a museum of agricultural history and village life in Cassville, WI. First we were given a tour of the The Governor Nelson Dewey's Home Site. He was the first state governor. The buildings are listed on the Nat'l Register of Historic Places. A lot of the furniture was original and in very good shape. It was developed in the 1860's and encompassed 2000 acres. Marie, our guide asked me if I knew what this dish was. It was a stack of two with a hole in the top. It was a bowl to put hair in. The second to last picture, believe it or not, is hair. Dave got a great bug picture as we were waiting for Marie to let us in the house.
